The eHealth Network

Residents in Brisbane are being offered a unique opportunity to help shape the future of eHealth in Australia by registering for an eHealth Network record through their General Practice. The local eHealth Network will create a shared electronic health record for each person who registers which will enable them and their nominated GP to a summary of their health details with other healthcare providers.

eHealth Network aims and expected outcomes

  • Build community expertise and understanding of eHealth to support a Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record.
  • Promote the benefits of eHealth.
  • Increase the eHealth capacity of healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrate and use national eHealth specifications.
  • Inform the National Reform Agenda and the Department of Health and Ageing with our learning’s and experiences.
  • Register a significant number of doctors, healthcare providers and patients.
  • Help ensure the right health information is available to the right person, at the right place and at the right time.
