NPS

The Metro North Brisbane Medicare Local provides the National Prescribing Service educational visitng program to general practitioners across the region. Consistently popular, more than 300 GPs are seen twice per year on selected therapeutic topics. The program is available to GPs and practice nurses and is delivered on-site at a time to suit participants, either individually or in a small group.

NPS educational programs provide independent, balanced, evidence-based information about medicines delivered by trained, professional facilitators.

Our experienced NPS Facilitators are also clinical pharmacists and can provide

  • liaison with local pharmacists on a variety of issues including PBS and other government schemes such as the Indigenous PBS Co-Payment iniative
  • assistance to source quality, evidence based information about medicines and prescribing
  • access to journals and clinical literature
